If you’ve got a bit of time on your hands, please do have a browse through our snaps of our trip to Peru. We started off in the capital Lima.. a very busy city with car horns beeping constantly! It was there that we met up with the family who co-ordinates the production of all our products – Maria and Jesus and their children Christian and Jennifer who now run the business. They showed us the historical parts of Lima before taking us to the enormous shanty towns where many thousands of Peruvians live. Without being paid to make handicrafts for businesses such as ours, they would be scouring the land picking plastic to make a living. Thanks to the Aguilar family and the support they receive from us, they are able to employ a number of families who are given a safe place to work and food each day.
After our week long stay in Lima, it was time to catch the plane to Cusco and start the 4 day Inca trail to Machu Picchu… an exhausting but worthwhile trek, with some amazing views!
